This is a setup that I had used during the day with some of my students. Instead of wandering off to a cafe, as if my work had finished for the day as I usually do, I decided to paint it. Just where do I get the energy from? From fresh vegetables, I say!

Tomatoes are hard work and describing them with paint can cause headaches...you could just go on and on seeing more and more subtle reflections...I think I will go for that coffee, after all.

This is the first post for months since I started art classes in my studio. Preparation for the courses and the unexpected fatigue after the class days has stopped me in my tracks. I need fruit! I bought a starfruit for the first time in my life, to provide a complimentary colour to the strawberries. Incidentally, after finishing up, I proceeded to try out the starfruit for flavour. It wasn't the luscious and exotic experience I had been expecting...
