No. 78. Orange Segments & Milk Jug

It's my wife's favourite jug again. I'm really going to have to go on a bric-à-brac collecting mission one of these days. I chose to paint the background as grey as possible to help the oranges to stand out -really, the B/G was warmer. I didn't even try to get the pink florets accurately -I felt it wasn't necessary. And I had a pain in my back from standing up.

No. 77. Pomegranates and Latte Cup

Oils Still Life Study on canvas panel. 7" x 5". Click here to buy this study.

Pomegranates for tea again? One of my children put me under pressure to finish with the fruit as she wanted to devour it. She'd acquired an expensive taste for pomegranates whilst on our family holiday in Provence. So, directly after this, we scooped out the insides and had a little Provençal vacation at our Irish kitchen table.

No. 76. Pomegranates and Plums

There's a small [or bijou, as it'd be termed in its vicinity] garden centre a moderate walk away from my house. They usually have an assortment of more exotic fruit and vegetables. Exotic means not a potato. Anyhuff, I bought these two pomegranates and set them up on my stand along with some plums for this study in warmth. Ironically, after several days of spring weather and false hope, we've now reverted to winter and I have my stove burning away as I write.

No. 75. Chilis on Purple

I know, I know; it's those chilis again. Don't worry, I found a couple of pomegranates yesterday and I'll put them on the stage immediately.

Anyway, I wanted to paint red on a purplish background just to see how it'd turn out. I like the combination myself. What do you think?
